Enrichment Program
Hannah R. & Mrs. A. Isaac G. Art of the Masters class (Abi is standing in for Jay, Aleah, Hannah, Josh, Nina, Marshall, Marlayna) My classes are done for this semester.We finished up our Van Gogh Starry Nights and had a great time doing so. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching these kids. What a blessing. Thanks for taking photos Faithann!
Ode to Van Gogh
For my last lessons for my Enrichment Program students, we will be doing an Ode to Van Gogh. He is one of my favorite artists. I couldn't believe it when I saw one of his originals at the DIA - I believe it was Irises (or maybe Sunflowers - I was blown away!) I kept asking my sister Mary if it was a copy because it 'couldn't be THE original'. We are doing a replica of Starry Night, of course.
Off to MI!
Finally got the framing right and shipped the horse painting to my cousin Joe in Michigan. I hope to visit it in its new home some day.
Acrylics class
I'm taking an acrylic painting class at Jerry's Artarama in Tempe. It is very challenging for me, but I love the results. This is a (poor quality) photo of the painting I did today. It is from one of my photographs of Maui when we went in 2004. The color in the actual painting is much more vivid.
Arizona Artists Guild
I submitted two painting to the AAG for their Fall Exhibition and one of my pieces was accepted! I am very excited about this, it's my first juried show in Arizona. Apparently 85 artists submitted 250 pieces for consideration. I don't know how many were accepted, I'll find out at the reception November 5. This is the accepted entry: Blue Skies
