Nautical Painting for baby Cole

Recently finished this group of four paintings as a gift for a dear friend's baby. Used modeling paste and gel medium for texture. Fun!

Class project for the church building

Image
My Fine Art Painting class produced this phenomenal painting for our church's stairway. They all took turns painting different aspects of it - background, cruciform, color choices, lettering. Special thanks to Mr. Anderson for choosing a great verse for it! We all hope it is a blessing for the church (they might choose to hang it in the bathroom or maybe a closet, who knows!! :)).

Cruciform Paintings

Image
The acrylics class finished their paintings this week (all but 2 who were absent). They were allowed any subject as long as it fit into a cruciform composition. I think they did a fantastic job and now we are going to make a do a group painting for our church building.

This week in my classes...

This week my acrylic (older) students finished their landscapes. I think they did a fantastic job, all of them!! In the younger kid class - Art of the Masters - we focused on Jim Dine's art and since it is almost Valentine's Day, we made heart art. They did a great job!

Update on my classes

Image
We are well into our "spring" semester and this is what I'm teaching: Fine Art Painting - Acrylics . Here is the mid way point in their first painting. They all brought in photos of their pet. We traced the photo using carbon paper and then focused on painting their values to complete the image. Art of the Masters - these happy (and active) 7-10 year olds have thus far painting like Monet and Jackson Pollack, well, almost. Middle School Art Attack - I renamed this class this semester, for obvious reasons. We just completed a large mural of Abraham Lincoln ( thanks to blogger Kathy Barbro http://artprojectsforkids.me/product/lincoln-mural/ ). I think it turned out great! Now to put it up on the wall. I am going to be taking an acrylic painting class for 4 weeks in February from Arizona artist Amy Whitehouse ( http://amywhitehousepaintings.blogspot.com/ ) Looking forward to learning more about art!! Happy painting!
